It was December 6th, 2001 when it happened. The alarm went off and Jim decided to stay home because he wasn't feeling well, which meant I had to drive myself to work (we lost Jim's camery to a deer the Wednesday before Thanksgiving). It was St. Nick's and I couldn't wait to get home to see what was in my stocking. I came home at 2:30 to find that Jim already went through his stocking. So, naturally, the first I did was to go through mine. Amidst all the chocolate and candies, there was a little, blue velvet bag. Inside the bag was an ID bracelet from 'Things Remembered' that I liked. But at a closer inspection of the engraving, it had KAH instead of KAW. I remember looking at Jim and then he asked if I would like the other half. I said 'yes' and from behind the TV in the living room, he pulled out a little white box, opened it, and asked, "will you marry me?" I was surprised and answered "with all my heart" and he put the ring on my finger and we hugged for quite some time.
PS. Jim hide the ring behind the TV in the living room for a month before he popped the question!
